Michelle Garneau, PhD, is a professor of wetland carbon dynamics and co-holder of the CARCLIQUE research chair (Quebec research chair focusing on the study of carbon in wetlands as a nature-based solution to combat climate change) in the Department of Geography at the University of Quebec at Montreal (UQAM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She manages the C-Paleo Lab<\/a> which studies the ecological and climatic archives preserved in peat. She possesses, among other things, extensive expertise in analyzing the effects of climate change on peatland ecosystems and the essential role of wetlands in carbon sequestration. Dr. Garneau is a member of the Geotop Centre, the Centre for Northern Studies (CEN), and the Interuniversity Research Group in Limnology (GRIL-UQAM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michelle Garneau holds a bachelor's degree in geography and a master's degree in biogeography from Laval University, as well as a doctorate in plant biology (paleoecology) from the University of Amsterdam.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
