Building on the global citizen science project "Tracking the Colour of Peatlands", established by Professor Scott J. Davidson, the project " Suivi de la couleur des milieux humides au Québec uses the same fixed-location photography method in a variety of wetland environments. The selected sites are located in ombrotrophic bogs, minerotrophic bogs, marshes (salt and freshwater) and wooded swamps, accessible to the public throughout southern Quebec.

• The fixed-location photography method promotes an accessible approach to generating visual data, monitoring seasonal changes (phenology or variations in plant greenness) and assessing the health and functioning of wetlands.
• This project aims to directly involve local communities, empowering them to participate in knowledge gathering and data collection. Through concrete and interactive participation, community members will gain a better understanding of wetland dynamics and their role in mitigating the effects of climate change.
• In addition to monitoring natural wetlands, the "wetland colour monitoring" method can also be used to assess the success of restoration projects. Using visual data in the form of time series, it will be possible to analyze the response of wetlands to restoration efforts as well as to changing environmental conditions.
